VPSB donates to SBJK

Vestigo Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. (VPSB) collaborated with Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP(PPZ-MAIWP) to organize a one-day program and donated RM69,950 for the students of Sekolah Bimbingan Jalinan Kasih (SBJK) on October 2nd, 2024. The donation was used to purchase equipment and furniture, upgrade school facilities, and provide dry food supplies.

The donation was presented by Vestigo Petroleum’s CEO, Khairul Azhar Abu Bakar, to SBJK’s Assistant Principle for Student’s Affairs, Suryady Ab Jalil, in the presence of PPZ-MAIWP CEO, Datuk Abdul Hakim Amir Osman. Moreover, PPZ-MAIWP contributed RM10,000 worth of dry food to support the program.

The day was filled with laughter and excitement as Vestigo Petroleum engaged with the students through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, where students had the opportunity to showcase their talents such as performances, art displays and other creative expressions. These activities not only allowed the students to shine but also helped boost their confidence and sense of accomplishment. Additionally, there were various games and interactive activities where students and staff participated together, thus fostering a sense of community and camaraderie to bond and create lasting memories.

To elaborate the significance of the donation, Sekolah Bimbingan Jalina Kasih (SBJK) provides education to children aged 5 to 17 who lack proper documentation and come from impoverished backgrounds. Despite their enthusiasm for learning, these students face challenges in receiving a complete education with proper documents. SBJK offers them hope and the motivation to achieve their dreams, with some former students even advancing to higher education and contributing back to society.

In conclusion, the collaborative efforts of the Malaysian Ministry of Education (KPM), Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP (PPZ-MAIWP), and Vestigo Petroleum Sdn. Bhd. (VPSB) exemplify a strong commitment to inclusive education. By supporting SBJK, they ensure that even the most vulnerable children have access to quality education, fostering a brighter future for all.
